Sports Projects

As well as being active sports building users and therefore aware of other sporting facilities and buildings in Lancashire, the practice has over the past years had involvement in a number of sport orientated projects, and we are currently involved with designs for providing new purpose built accommodation for Great Harwood football club who are aiming to obtain funding from the FA to realise the scheme.

Arnold High School, Blackpool

Construction of a new main sports hall, activity rooms, weight training and full changing facilities for the whole school. The design of these spaces involved our understanding and proposals for the integration of these facilities into the fabric and organisation of the existing school.

Bamber Bridge Indoor Tennis Centre

Designs for submission to the LTA in 1992.

Crow Wood House, Burnley, Health, Leisure and Sports Complex

A major development in the Green Belt. The complex includes 50 stables, all weather gallops, horse trails, bridleways within 100 acres of new woodland planting. Indoor facilities include 4 indoor tennis courts, fitness suites, therapy suites, activity areas, 25m swimming pool, bar and lounge areas etc.. The overall complex cost was around £6.5m.

Myerscough Agricultural College, Bilsborrow

Provision of new sports facilities including main hall, 2 supplementary activity rooms, large weight training room, social spaces viewing gallery etc. These facilities are to serve both the College Students but also the general public and were completed early 1996.

Stonyhurst Park Golf Club

The practice designed the clubhouse in a highly insulated timber frame structure and which was completed in 1994. The success of the project has resulted in extensions to the premises in 1997.

Whalley Sports Club

A Lottery application for the re-development of sporting facilities and new clubhouses.
