The CDM file should be updated as and when the building is altered and extended.

Unfortunately, the Architect very rarely sees the building (unless it is a public building) after the end of the six months defects period, unless the building needs extending or there is a problem.

In most cases, the Architects liability with the building terminates 6 years after its completion.
