No matter how small or large, or simple or complex a project is, Health + Safety is a major consideration with the contractor taking on a big responsibility of maintaining and ensuring a safe site and working environment for not only his work force, but his sub-contractors, site visitors as well as people passing the building site.

Methods of construction are an important factor in terms of Health + Safety, and there needs to be a lot of thought by the Contractor as to programming the works and how he is to build the building, so as not to put the site operatives and general public in danger.

By Law, on larger projects, the client needs to appoint a CDM co-ordinator who will co-ordinate Health + Safety issues from the Design Stage through to Completion of the project, and beyond.
