The Practice is committed to ensuring that it utilises the current technology and developments in professional practice to ensure that it is able to provide a high level of competence. This relates not only to it’s design skills but also to the management of the projects and the presentation and technical content of the schemes.
Computer Aided Design has involved us in a heavy ongoing investment since we introduced workstations in 1988 and these have been developed and expanded so that now virtually all projects are handled on our networked Autocad system. This has enabled the practice to provide a very efficient, accurate and adaptable response to designs and variations and to give our clients a high quality service. Not only are developmental and constructional drawings produced, but also we have the technology to prepare 3D colour presentations and animated ‘walkthroughs’ of our designs to allow clients a better understanding of the projects at design stages. This is particularly useful where promotional material is required or where design proposals need to be understood by the general public.
The Practice has for many years been a member of the RIBA North West Region CPD group and has sent practice members to monthly presentations on continuing professional development topics to ensure staff are kept abreast of architectural advances. These seminars have included work on the structure, materials and restoration of historic buildings.
The computers are again used with NBS building specifications to ensure a current and consistent level of specification for projects where applicable, and of course all word-processing, accounting etc, is computer based.
The competence of the Practice is also backed up by a Professional Indemnity Insurance policy, details of which can be made available if required.
